Greenfire Development you have taken a big risk. But it looks like its paying off. Until two years ago I would have though the best thing to do in downtown Durham is bomb it tear it all down and start over. Hope you can continue to find suckers (Sorry) people willing to live in downtown Durham.

I was born and raised here but moved to Cary 10 years ago because Durham had become a complete dump. I thought it was one of the worst places in NC to leave. Thanks for what you have done and are doing downtown. Now if they could emprove the school system lower the crime rate and get the slum loards to fix up there Apts Durham might be a nice place. But right now I think people are carzy for paying high dollar rent to live in downtown Durham and even crazyer to pay 200 to 500 thousand dollars to live in downtown Durham. But it is a big emprovement. In the 40 years I've been around its the best thing they have done. There is still along way to go and east Durham is looking alot better too. Still would not want to live here and glad I moved to Cary.

Durham suffered the same fate as so many downtowns: vacant storefronts, aesthetic challenges, not much of a nod from the masses. It's so good to see life downtown. And, it is with great hope that the revitalization includes neighborhoods just to the east of the library. It would serve downtown well to be inclusive and protective of the human resources that could easily feed it.

I love all the changes going on in downtown. It's refreshing to see the new faces and new businesses. I can't wait to see what the spring brings with new places to check out!!

having been born and raised in durham, I was personally shocked to see the number of changes that have gone on downtown during my last drive there. But by the second pass by I realized that I had made the right decision moving to Raleigh.

Morning breeze whips the trees, My Main street squeeze, down with these Sidewalks trip you up, coffee in a travel cup, Spills just a little, tender vittles, In the middle of all this twitch and twiddle, Solve the riddle, make bank the booty, Now on duty for a live community, Thrive with impunity, describe the opportunity, Left off the charts, a lost art of street smarts, Lookin for a fresh start sounds sweet and tart, A train departs and sounds it horn loudly, The town it stands proudly, but thoughts get so cloudy, The crowds get so rowdy, relentlessly doubting, They all just start shouting, some just start pouting, But ideas they keep sprouting in the center square, It's in the air, this whole affair, might get us there, Might get us where, despair beware, Make prepare for the good news, that we choose, Who's views we use, whose views confuse, In these dusty shoes, the afternoon blues, coffee and a snack, Break for chat but gotta get back to minds unfoldin, The times we're moldin, the place we're beholden, To make it feel golden, look who just rolled in, My, what's unfoldin, just what I told 'em, The Truth seaps in and takes hold, Let's take a poll, what stake is sold, What fate untold, we take control in colors bold, But the day takes its toll, So time to go home and no crime to go roamin, Watch the whole thing get primed and just take in the moment.

Hopelessness. That "We want Oprah!" message has been up for, like, ten years, and I don't think she's coming.

Right now it means another stupid "Irish" bar. It's starting to feel like Raleigh in here.

To me, downtown Durham means being. Being a being, if I can be redundant. Actually not redundant, but resplendent. Maybe recumbent. Transcendent. But definitely not translucent. Downtown Durham is different than Downtown Durahm. Totally different thing.

Have you been to the Rue Cler cafe for one of their renowned cookies? Go early, though, they don’t last long.

Wow, I enjoyed my evening at Tylers last week. We decided to peek into the city. It was nice to see all the new happenings in Durham's downtown. The view going from the AT and the bulls park in toward the Suntrust build was awesome at night. It looks like there is a new plaza area being done around the Suntrust building....nice. But when will they finish the sidewalks! We were walking around and it was a little scary at night in a few spots. City of Durham needs to move faster. Especially since the weather was so nice. But, I am sure it will be exciting once they get the streets and walkways together. My co-worker told me about this site when we were looking at the cover on one of the buildings. Just thought I would leave my mark!

Having been born and raised in Durham it is incredibly exciting to see how the city is progressing aesthetically, socially and culturally. Favorite spots: Manbite's Dog Theater, the YMCA, 305 South, Dolly's, Joe & Jo's, the farmer's market, Scrap Exchange, Baldwin Lofts (who can resist floor the ceiling windows!),Through the Lens and all of the many tucked away studio spaces. I'm learning that there are so many hidden treasures in Durham!

Someone needs to get SAS downtown and out of homogenous Cary....they are consolidating their offices and will need more space.....hmmmm. The perfect place to be to keep your employees healthy is downtown Durham. You can live and walk to work...no more gridlock and when it snows...gosh how beautiful it would be to walk to work in stead of slide to work. Every company that has to have 24 hour operations needs to have its employees in locations where they can choice to live and work. Durham is the place to be!
